Recently the Canadian War Museum acquired the Victoria Cross medal from a Scot who emigrated to Canada in 1808.

Lt.-Col. Harcus Strachan of the Fort Garry Horse Canadian cavalry brigade received his Victoria Cross medal on Jan. 16, 1918 at Buckingham Palace from King George V. The acquisition of the Strachan Victoria Cross Medal Set is important as it was earned 100 years ago and Strachan served in both World Wars.
